Your Local Area Musical Instrument and Accessories Source

Why Allied Music of Michigan?

If you have some reading time we’d like to explain why Allied Music is the best choice in our region for your child’s school band needs. There are several advantages to doing business with Allied Music:

Allied Music is in Bedford Township at 9056 Lewis Avenue in downtown Temperance, Michigan 48182. We are just a few buildings north of Temperance Road on the east side of the street. If you know where the Lion's Den is, you are within a few feet of our store. Just look for our big green neon sign!  If you are coming up Lewis Avenue from Toledo, we are exactly 4 miles and 4 buildings north of the state line.

By patronizing our local Bedford Township store you’re not inconvenienced by driving to a distant dealer for parts, repair, or accessories. We’re only minutes from your southeast Michigan or northwest Toledo home and your band student’s school.  We are about 4 to 5 miles from anywhere in Bedford, 8 miles from Ida, 4 miles from Lewis & Alexis. We are located in a ground floor single-story building with parallel parking in front and a huge township-owned paved parking lot next door abutting our building. Nothing could be easier than coming to casual downtown Temperance and pulling practically up to our front door!

Allied Music’s convenient location means that if one of our instruments require maintenance, adjustment, or minor repair, it can be completed and returned before distant dealers even have time to make their long once-a-week journey to your school system to pick up broken instruments.

By dropping the instrument off at our store you have the additional bonus of receiving a loaner instrument (for our rental customers)  to use while yours is being serviced - when one is available. Loaners typically are available though because we don't have much service work occurring on our premium instruments!

Holmes Music Company of Temperance was at the other end of our building until November 2007.  He was quite instrumental (bad pun!) in helping us get established. We continue to forge relationships with Directors at area school systems and have customers as far away as Ann Arbor and Marblehead OH. We have working relationships with the manufacturers of our instruments and their district managers support us fully.  While southeastern Michigan is a numbered “territory” covered by a "road rep" for most distant band instrument dealers, our area is the personal homeland of the Allied Music's owners.  Allied Music is a locally-owned and operated music store.

Allied Music wants to make acquiring a premium-quality band instrument, accessories, and the correct method book for your student's school as easy and convenient as possible for you. We talk with Band Directors regularly concerning what they desire in instruments and accessories. We customize the instruments in the ways we can to assure 100% approval of Band Directors. We stock precisely what you need so you have “one-stop shopping” 99% of the time for your child’s school band needs. Everything required for participation in area band programs is stocked at Allied Music. If we're out of anything it can usually be ordered and received in three or four days.

Allied Music makes your life easier because we've done all the leg work for you. Taking care of the details is our job and it helps you avoid wasted time and brainpower analyzing the subject matter (the world of musical instruments and manufacturers) you're not familiar with. We know you don't want to worry while hoping you don't make a terrible mistake somewhere along the line. It's our job to take that burden off of you! You just tell us what instrument your child has been fitted to play by the band (or orchestra) department staff, we hand a complete instrument outfit to you, you sign a pre-filled rental contract and buy the method book we know your school uses. All basic cleaning and lubricating supplies are included in the instrument "outfit" we hand you.  In most cases the instrument is U.S.-built.  We still have sources for U.S-built instruments although most manufacturers have moved manufacturing to China or Taiwan.

You are in and out of our store in a hurry and will be fully confident that you got the best rental rate in the region as well as the best quality instrument possible. No stress, no research, no haggling, no hard choices to make, no model numbers or brands to remember, and you come away with the best of the best. How cool is that?

We chose the name Allied Music because we are partnering with you and your area Band Directors as an Alliance to benefit your band student. Assuring that your student gets a high quality reliable and very playable instrument is what we do for you, your student, and the Director as our part of that Alliance.

Allied Music decided upon the brands of student band instruments we carry for one main reason – premium quality and craftsmanship you and we can depend on. Everything about our instruments is superior quality. We even offer playability features on student level instruments that are typically only available on higher-priced intermediate or professional instruments.

Allied Music usually custom orders our band instruments with optional features to benefit your band student. We have carefully chosen the superior features, instrument materials, exterior finishes, and durable external cases for you so instruments from our store perform better and look new longer. We have no doubt that your band student will have more success performing with a high quality name-brand instrument and it will also prove to be a superior long-term investment.

Allied Music will never rent-to-own inferior instruments that would be problematic for our customers. Your band student will be proud to play the instrument throughout school. They will love the value-added features included on their instruments. Once acclimated to a premium-quality instrument, the serious music student can “step up” to intermediate and higher-level professional instruments as they excel. All instruments that we rent and sell have superior tonality, playability, and quality when compared to low-cost imported clones. Starting your band student out with a high quality instrument from Allied Music today is the smartest thing you could do because he or she could potentially play that premium instrument for decades or their kids could use it and their kids' kids could use it too!

Allied Music is operated honestly with integrity for your peace of mind. We don't use slick salesmanship or hype to "get" you. We simply provide the facts and figures concerning the best instruments on the market today and assist you in making your decision to rent from us. We do not pad our profits with inflated selling prices above the manufacturers’ recommended prices nor by adding extra bookkeeping fees or service charges into the rental contract.  As a matter of fact, because the retail prices of instruments have been going up in leaps and bounds recently, we are actually renting and selling some instruments at lower than manufacturer's suggested prices to keep them affordable for you.

We live here in this area and you live here too. We want to be able to see you in a local restaurant or grocery and say a friendly "Hi!" or talk for a while - not look at the floor and creep away so you won't see us. Our rental contract is written in simple, easy to understand “no small print” wording and the main points are easy to understand:

Your fixed monthly rental payment is based solely upon the instrument’s price + Michigan sales tax. Upon completion of your rental contract the instrument is yours to keep, thus this is a rent-to-own contract.

You are free to return the instrument and cancel your rental contract at any time without penalty and what you have paid is considered rent instead.

Your rental payments are applied toward the purchase of the instrument you're renting or can later be credited toward the purchase of a step-up instrument while your rental contract is still in effect. We'll even allow a portion of your rental payments toward a step-down instrument!

Allied Music wants you to have an excellent instrument to help your child excel and enjoy music, perhaps go forward to higher musical education for a rewarding music career. Your student level instrument can be upgraded to a step-up model very easily while your rental contract is in effect. Upon returning your contracted instrument (while the contract is still in effect), 100% of what you paid in rent so far will be credited toward the price of the new higher-level instrument. Allied Music wants band students to have the best experiences possible in their musical endeavors and our instruments help that occur.

Allied Music also makes it easy to pay your monthly rental. You can pay in person, by mail, by calling in with your credit card number, or using our payment system on this website.  Your bank can do an automatic payment check each month for you (we cannot offer automatic credit card or bank withdrawals!)  If there’s a way we can make it easier for you and save you time, that’s what we’re doing!
